The South Salem Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighters Hank Algire, Chris Bergstrom, Mike Harris and Paddy McManus on their recent High School Graduations. Firefighters Algire, Bergstrom and McManus are the newest graduates of John Jay High School, while Firefighter Harris graduated from Soundview Prep. All four members have been with the department since they turned 14 and enrolled in our Venture Program, sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America. Once they turned 16, they were eligible to become probationary members. During that time, they took all their mandatory classes and upon turning 18 were granted senior member status. We wish all four success as they go onto the next step in their lives. And hope we still see them around the firehouse as much as possible.
