On Thursday, July 8th, South Salem firefighters visited the Lewisboro Day Camp Little Explorers, to show the campers their apparatus along with demonstrating the importance of fire prevention and safety. Campers had the chance to climb in apparatus and see some of the equipment firefighters use including the ever important Jaws of Life. Firefighters also taught campers about the importance of dialing 911 in an emergency, the need for campers and their families to develop and practice a home fire escape plan and the proper technique to "stop, drop and roll." By the expressions on their faces, the 200 campers enjoyed this much anticipated visit and the firefighters as well enjoyed this annual trip to the day camp.
