National Fire Prevention Week 2021 runs from Sunday, October 3rd through Saturday, October 9th. The Department will be running fire prevention activities throughout the week which will culminate with our annual Open House on Saturday, October 9th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. There will be lots to see and do for the public including:

The New York Blood Center has announced a blood emergency, with a 3-day blood supply.

The long-term impact of the pandemic has resulted in a year of virtually no youth first-time donors, 3000 fewer blood drives and 100,000 New Yorkers that have yet to return to donate since before the pandemic. Complicating matters has been a surge in blood usage as hospitals perform surgeries and patients seek medical care that was postponed during the pandemic. Parade Night Information

The members of the South Salem Fire Department are excited to welcome all our friends and neighbors back to Carnival Week. For those of you who are planning on attending the Parade/Carnival on Wednesday night, or plan on just traveling through town, please see the information below.

-Parade Information - Wednesday Night -
The Parade will begin at 7pm. The parade start is at Spring Street/Route 35 in front of the NY State Police Barracks.
The Parade will last approximately 45 minutes.
-Route 35 will be SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY from Boutonville Road/Route 35 and Spring Street South/Route 35.
