By 2nd Assistant Chief Avery Scott
June 30, 2011
On Monday June 26th South Salem Fire Department hosted Neighboring fire and ems departments
from throughout battalion 13. Organized by battalion 13 coordinator Gary Weber, the purpose of the event was to view a live line demonstration put on by New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG). The crew used a purpose built trailer and props to demonstrate the hazard power lines can pose to emergency responders as well as to the public.
