Route 35 Rollover Sends Two To NWHC
By 1st Assistant Chief Andrew Llewellyn
March 8, 2009
The male driver and a female passenger were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital after their vehicle had rolled over on route 35.
On the evening of Saturday, March 7th, South Salem firefighters were dispatched to a single vehicle accident with possible entrapment on route 35 between Rt. 121 and The Meadows condominium complex. All three chiefs responded with Car 2453 arriving on scene first, confirming a report that both occupants had self extricated and were being treated on the scene. A short stretch of Route 35 was promptly shut down using an access road for traffic to bypass the accident scene. Firefighters secured the vehicle and proceeded to assist Lewisboro VAC with packaging the two patients. The patients were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital with the Westchester paramedic on board. As the vehicle was rolled back onto its wheels fluids were cleared from the roadway by the firefighters. All units were back in service and the scene was cleared within an hour.
