Single Vehicle Accident Closes Route 123
By 1st Assistant Chief Andrew Llewellyn
February 13, 2010
Shortly before midnight on Friday, February 12th, South Salem Firefighters were dispatched to a single vehicle into a utility pole. Car 2451 was first to arrive, advising that NYSEG would be needed and route 123 would be closed. The vehicle, occupied by only the driver, had left the pavement going through a utility pole and into a tree. After firefighters had closed the roadway and secured the vehicle, the driver was transported to Norwalk Hospital by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corp along with the Westchester medic.
Route 123 remained closed in one direction while NYSEG worked early into the morning replacing the downed pole. South Salem FD returned to service at 1230.
